Bankruptcy Law

Bankruptcy Law Attorney

You can still qualify for bankruptcy protection

Past Due DocumentThe new laws surrounding Bankruptcy have made it more difficult to file bankruptcy, but it is still possible for you to receive debt relief. My law practice can help you sort through all the misconceptions.

What can I keep?

Call today and schedule an appointment with me, Jim McGehee, an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney and determine what you will be able to keep. Usually you are able to keep everything that you currently own and items such as cars that you are paying on may be eligible for re-negotiating the terms of the loan.

Chapter 7

This is the most common form of relief sought by individuals. All your unsecured debt (debt that doesn't have collateral attached to it) is erased. In most incidents, you are able to keep everything your currently own. Secured debt (loans that have property attached to them such as car loans) can also be negotiated and new terms reached that may even allow you to keep whatever it is the loan is paying for (such a car). The entire process takes approximately three to six months but the harassing phone calls from creditors can stop as soon as Mr. McGehee is retained.

Chapter 13

This type of debt relief is where you use your income to repay the debts following a repayment plan that has been approved by the court. The requirements for this are very strict and the repayment plan must be completed within three to five years. To determine if you qualify for Chapter 13, you need to call and schedule an appointment with our attorney.

Bankruptcy Law can be a very confusing area. The credit card companies don't want you to know that individuals can still be awarded relief from debt. Call today and talk to an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to see if you qualified.

I am a litigator who is not afraid to go to court for you.
